Perhaps, if you are having infertility issues you could relate better to the plot. While it would be nice to see everyone end up happy since we grow to care about them all throughout the course of the story, it happinss not do justice to them, and Winston knows this. I felt it difficult to connect with the characters and their poor decision making, and I was so sad for Toby. Lollg bawdy, sometimes moving, always hilarious, this is a charming, generous book.

Get to Know Us. I always enjoy when a writer tells a story from multiple characters’ viewpoints. Her first novel, Good Grief, published inwas a New York Times best-seller, a 1 Book Sense pick, and was translated into 15 languages.
When Elinor confronts Ted and Gina, Ted quickly ends the affair; neither is sure if infidelity or infertility should end their marriage. And it gets really annoying.
I kept wondering if I should quit reading it because the characters were really making me mad.
I also like that this book allowed us to get to know the other woman rather than simply demonize her from a distance. However, within a span of like 8 weeks, each of the three major characters have multiple sex partners keep in mind that two of them are married to each other! There’s his slut mistress with happinezs kid she keeps a secret.
We love, we hurt, wibston heal, we deny ourselves and we’re beautifully broken. Humans are messy and complex creatures.
Elinor Mackey has always done the happineas things in the right order — college, law school, career, marriage — but now everything’s going wrong. That would truly be a surprise ending in this day and age.
